Eligibility Guidelines
Nominees for the SAM Initiative's grants are internal selections made by committee, based on the interests of members and current issues within the community.
The process for these selected nominees includes a grant application, presentations, site visits, and communication with our due diligence committees; so that members may be educated about the organization's work and how our grant dollars will have the most impact.
All nominated agencies meet the following eligibility requirements:
Applicants must be classified as 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.
Ideally organizations must have a minimum of 3 years of existence.
Program funding must benefit women, children and families.
Agencies must be located in and serve communities in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Each agency may make only one application.
Applicants must be willing to submit financial and operational details as well as evidence of positive programmatic outcomes.
Services must be non-denominational.
Agencies funded by a national parent organization may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
