Since 2013, SAM has given over $3.3 million to the community, and our reach goes far beyond the grants we give. Our model enables us to be responsive to the needs of the community and helps organizations expand at critical points in their growth.
Our process inspires our members to give beyond our grants. We are tremendously proud of our inspired giving which has reached almost $2 million.

GRANT OF $80,000
Provides education, wellness, and arts programs for youth in South Central LA. Our funding will help bridge the technological gap by providing 700 youth with the laptops, technology, hotspots, software, and career readiness classes. Our critical seed funding will provide this underserved population access to technology that is critical in the 21st century.

With a strong commitment to empower young men of color with values, attitudes, and strategies required to thrive in school, at home and in the community. Our grant will support the “Thriving Under the Influence” program - which elevates selected high school students to receive specialized training and financial support to mentor and tutor elementary and middle school students.

Empowers marginalized girls and young women to become confident, college, and career ready by providing them with the necessary skills, education, training, and mentorship. Our funding will provide the crucial hire of an Academy Instructor that will strengthen infrastructure and enable them to grow from serving 500 girls annually to 1,000.

Dedicated to pairing gifted individuals on the autism spectrum with corporations. Their efforts give these individuals gainful employment based on their skills and interests. Our grant will amplify and scale their neurodiversity hiring initiative and allow them to consult on inclusivity training in the workplace.

Homeboy Industries is a SAM multi-year grant recipient. In 2020 SAM awarded a grant to Homeboy Industries to start up their Social Enterprise Feed HOPE program. As the program gained traction, in July 2021, SAM awarded an additional $75,000 grant to support this same program.
